Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

CSA Preface Standards development within the Information Technology sector is harmonized with international standards development. Through the CSA Technical Committee on Information Technology (TCIT), Canadians serve as the Canadian Advisory Committee (CAC) on ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1 on Information Technology (ISO/IEC JTC1) for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the ISO member body for Canada and sponsor of the Canadian National Committee of the IEC. Also, as a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Canada participates in the International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee (ITU-T). Scope This Recommendation | International Standard specifies the use of the wavelet-based JPEG 2000 codec for the coding and display of timed sequences of images (motion sequences), possibly combined with audio, and composed into an overall presentation. In this Recommendation | International Standard, a file format is defined, and guidelines for the use of the JPEG 2000 codec for motion sequences are supplied. This Recommendation | International Standard also specifies profiles and the framework, concepts, methodology for testing and the criteria to be achieved to claim compliance to this Recommendation | International Standard.
