    La présente norme porte sur les bennes de collecte des déchets à chargement frontal telles que définies en 3.2 et spécifie les exigences techniques correspondantes. La présente norme traite également de tous les phénomènes dangereux significatifs, situations et événements dangereux relatifs aux bennes à chargement frontal lorsqu'elles sont utilisées dans des conditions normales et dans des conditions de mauvaise utilisation raisonnablement prévisibles par le constructeur. La présente norme (partie 3) décrit et fournit les exigences relatives aux bennes à chargement frontal et aux lève-conteneurs associés; elle fait également référence à la partie 4 de cette norme pour le code d'essai acoustique. Des exemples de types standard de bennes à chargement frontal sont donnés à l'Annexe C.
