Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Gives a gravimetric method for determining lead in steel. Applicable to carbon steels and low alloy steels containing chromium, copper, molybdenum and nickel. Tin contents up to 0.25% and tungsten contents up to 2% do not interfere.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This Subsection of BS 6200 describes a gravimetric method for the determination of lead in steel.

The method is applicable to carbon steels and low alloy steels containing chromium, copper, molybdenum and nickel. Tin contents up to 0.25 % m/m and tungsten contents up to 2 % m/m do not interfere.

The method is applicable to lead contents exceeding 0.05 % m/m.

NOTE The titles of the publications referred to in this Subsection of BS 6200 are listed on the inside back cover.
