Essa si applica ai parcometri azionati mediante monete, gettoni o mezzi elettronici, esclusivamente concepiti per il controllo simultaneo della sosta di un numero illimitato di veicoli stradali su o fuori strada, installati sotto proprietà pubblica o privata. I parcometri conformi alla presente norma forniscono le garanzie adeguate e necessarie riguardo a facilità d'uso, sicurezza, integrazione nell'ambiente, per le persone incaricate del loro utilizzo: utenti, sorveglianti, operatori e incaricati per la manutenzione.
