    La présente partie de la CEI 80947 couvre les dispositifs de détection de proximité ayant une résistance accrue au défaut (PDF). Elle donne des prescriptions pour quatre types différents de PDF. NOTE - Etant donné leur résistance accrue au défaut, les PDF sont par exemple applicables: - aux dispositifs de verrouillage (voir l'ISO 14119); - à la détection de la présence ou de l'absence de dispositifs de protection (voir l'ISO/TR 12100-1). Pour un PDF utilisé dans des cas où des caractéristiques supplémentaires, couvertes par d'autres normes, sont requises, il convient de satisfaire aux prescriptions de toutes les normes correspondantes.
