    Scope This Specification applies to electrical equipment used on, or in close connection with, woodworking* machinery for use in industrial applications and designed to be installed and employed in accordance with the rules of Part I of this Code. It does not apply to (a) small machines of the \"hobby\" type intended for use only in domestic or similar occupancies; (b) miscellaneous portable tools such as saws, drills, sanders, etc., which are within the scope of the latest issue of CSA Specification C22.2 No. 71, Portable Electric Tools; and (c) electrical equipment which, while intended for use in connection with woodworking machinery, is located or housed (as in dust-free rooms) where it will not be affected by dust or wood chips, and which complies with the requisite requirements of Part I of this Code. *Machines used for working both wood and metal are required to comply with this Specification and also with the latest issue of CSA Specification No. C22.2 No. 73, Electrically-equipped Machine Tools.
