    Covers automatic transfer switches for use in non-hazardous locations in accordance with the Rules of Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, to give switching of electrical energy in emergency or other systems and with maximum ratings of 600 volts nominal and 4000 amperes. The transfer switches that are covered in this Standard only in control circuits may employ solid-state devices. It is not applicable to switches used in equipment manufactured in accordance with CSA Standard C22.2 No. 141, Unit Equipment for Emergency Lighting.
