Specifies a method of testing components of copper alloys, in particular copper-zinc alloys, in wet ammonia vapour. It serves to determine the stress conditions which may lead to stress corrosion cracking. Furthermore, this test can be used to investigate the following: susceptibility of different copper alloys as component materials to stress corrosion cracking; protective effect of any existing coatings or of other measures to protect components against stress corrosion cracking.
