    ÖNORM EN ISO 1179-2 legt Masse, Leistungsanforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Einschraubzapfen der schweren Reihe (S-Reihe) und der leichten Reihe (L-Reihe) mit Gewinde nach ISO 228-1 und Elastomerdichtung (Form E) fest. Einschraubzapfen der schweren Reihe (S-Reihe) mit Dichtung der Form E, die dieser Norm entsprechen, können bei Arbeitsdrücken bis 63 MPa (630 bar) eingesetzt werden. Einschraubzapfen der leichten Reihe (L-Reihe) mit Dichtung der Form E, die diesem Teil von ISO 1179 entsprechen, können bei Arbeitsdrücken bis 25 MPa (250 bar) eingesetzt werden. Der zulässige Arbeitsdruck ist von Grösse, Werkstoffen, Konstruktion, Betriebsbedingungen, Anwendung usw. abhängig. Übereinstimmung mit den Massangaben in dieser Norm garantiert keine Nennleistung. Jeder Hersteller muss Prüfungen entsprechend den Festlegungen dieser Norm durchführen, um sicherzustellen, dass die nach dieser Norm hergestellten Bauteile mit den Nennleistungen übereinstimmen.
