    Defines the protocol procedures for a SR application service element (ASE). Specifies the behaviour that must be shown by a system in order to participate in the provision of the ISO search and retrieve service as defined in ISO 10162. Primarily meant for use by systems supporting information retrieval services for organisations such as information utilities, libraries and union catalogue centres.
