    Scope 1.1 This Standard applies to cord-connected and permanently connected engine heaters and battery warmers for use on nominal system voltages of 600 V and less that are designed to be used in nonhazardous locations such as in passenger automobiles, light trucks, and heavy duty on- and off-road vehicles in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. 1.2 This Standard applies to standard and heavy duty engine heaters, which include the following types: (a) Internal and external coolant immersion; (b) Internal and external oil immersion; and (c) External surface. The heavy duty classification also includes the oil-circulating immersion type. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.
