An organization’s ability to innovate is recognized as a key factor for sustained growth, economic viability, increased well-being, and the development of society. An innovation management system provides a common framework to guide an organization (including Start-ups and SMEs) to determine its innovation vision, strategy, policy, and objectives, and to establish the support and processes needed to achieve the intended outcome - the realization of new value. The ISO 56000 standards series provides guidance on the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of an innovation management system for use in all organisations, including SMEs. The series also provides practical guidance on key innovation principles and tools to assist organizations in systematically implementing and assessing innovation management within their organization, and in partnership with external collaborators.
