Method of oxalic acid etching test for stainless steels

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method for determining whether hot acid corrosion test such as ferric sulfate-sulfuric acid test (JIS G 0572), 65 % nitric acid test (JIS G 0573) or copper sulfate-sulfuric acid test (JIS G 0575) is required or not by observing the structure of etched surface with a microscope after electrolytic etching austenitic stainless steel in oxalic acid solution.
