Behandelt sind Bezeichnungen für Weich-, Hart- und Fugenlote auf der Basis ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung. Nur für Hart- und Fugenlote enthält die Bezeichnung ihre Solidus-Liquidus-Temperaturen. Der Anwendungsbereich ist jedoch eingeschränkt auf Lote, die beim Weich-, Hart- und Fugenlöten eingesetzt werden und kein Flussmittel enthalten, weder als Umhüllung noch als Bestandteil.
