Intended standard to establish the uniform methods for testing tubing and fitting assemblies (SAE J844) for use in automatic air brake systems. Also qualifications (minimum) for pressure and tensile capabilities, serviceability, vibrational durability under cyclic temperatures and fitting compatibility requirements. Fitting type for use with SAE J844 nonmetallic tubing included in SAE J246 but not intended to restrict or preclude use with other designs of fittings to comply in this document.
