Gives an index test method to determine tensile properties of geotextiles and their related products, by means of a wide-width strip. Applies to most geotextiles, including woven fabrics, non-wovens, geocomposites, knitted fabrics and felts. Also applies to geogrids, but may need to alter specimen dimensions. Covers measurement of load elongation characteristics including procedures for calculation of secant stiffness, maximum load per width and strain at maximum load. Also includes singular points on the load-extension curve and procedures for measuring the tensile properties of both conditioned and wet specimens.
