This European Standard specifies the requirements, test methods and performance characteristics of linear detectors using the transmitted light principle, which detect smoke by evaluating the attenuation and / or changes in the attenuation of an optical beam in fire detection and fire alarm systems installed in buildings (see EN 54-1: 2011).
