This document specifies test methods and values for paper for the manufacture of single-use paper bags (specified in EN 868 4 [3]) and for the manufacture of single-use transparent bags and tubing (specified in EN 868 5 [4]) that are used as sterile barrier systems and/or packaging systems for medical devices to be sterilized in the final packaging that are sterilized by sterilization processes that require properties that are necessary for sterilization at a higher temperature specific, such as moist heat sterilization used in healthcare facilities.
