    The mechanical requirements for doors, barriers and gates intended for installation in areas in the reach of people and for which the main intended uses are giving safe access for goods and vehicles accompanied by persons in industrial, residential and commercial premises are defined in this Standard. These products may be power or manually operated. NOTE; Power operated doors may be either an original power operated door or a manually operated door with the retrospective addition of a drive unit.

    This European Standard specifies the mechanical performance requirements of manual and power operated industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates and defines the minimum requirements to ensure the safe construction and use of doors. NOTE: Use means normal use and foreseeable misuse of the doors. A door is not part of the load carrying structure of the building. This standard is including door as: - industrial and commercial doors; - garage doors; - shutters; - barriers; - gates.
