This CID covers a clearance indicating reflector assembly, also referred to herein as reflector, which is comprised of a red or amber reflecting element (lens), mounted in a one or two piece metal flanged housing (see figure 1).

This CID covers a clearance indicating reflector assembly, also referred to herein as reflector, which is comprised of a red or amber reflecting element (lens), mounted in a one or two piece metal flanged housing (see figure 1). This reflector is used on vehicles to give an indication of presence to an approaching driver by reflected light from the headlamps on the approaching vehicle. Reflectors may also be used on structures or road hazards for supplementary night parking.
