This specification covers manually operated, target tracking and robotic, portable, medium-range (two-kilometer (km) and seven km), electro-optical distance and angle measuring equipment capable of second order, class II surveys. Distances are measured with an Electronic Distance Meter (EDM), using diode-emitted, modulated, infrared light waves; and angles determined by electronic measurement. The AISI measuring unit will be of solid-state construction and complete with accessories for unsupported operation.
