This commercial item description (CID) covers an aerial ladder fire truck. It has a 6x4 chassis with a diesel engine and an automatic transmission; a cab for at least five seated persons with at least four doors; a 1,250 gallon per minute (gpm) fire pump; a water tank with a capacity of at least 150 gallons; hose storage areas; an aerial ladder with a permanently mounted waterway and work platform; ground ladders; and equipment compartments. The aerial ladder truck is intended to combat structural and associated fires, and to support fire fighting and rescue operations by positioning personnel, handling materials, providing continuous egress, or discharging water at positions elevated from the ground.
