This commercial item description covers the general requirements for the R-12Hydrant Servicing Vehicle (herein referred to as HSV) used for fuel servicing both military andcommercial aircraft at Government installations worldwide. The HSV is to be capable ofservicing aircraft from a Type III Hydrant System through ground servicing discharge hoses at aflow rate up to and including 750 gallons per minute (GPM), through the lift platform hoses (ifequipped with a lift platform) at a flow rate up to and including 1,000 GPM, and defuel at aminimum flow rate of 80 GPM through one rear ground discharge hose without the assistance ofaircraft boost pumps and 300 GPM with the assistance of aircraft boost pumps. The truck is tobe air transportable in type C-130, C-17, and C-5 aircraft.
