This commercial item description (CID) covers the requirements for the Flight Line Tow Tractor (FLTT), hereafter referred to as FLTT. The FLTT is based on a commercial truck chassis, also known as a chassis-cab, which is modified for use as a FLTT in worldwide service. The FLTT is capable of towing trailers weighing up to 40,000 pounds and military aircraft weighing up to 85,000 pounds on grades up to 2.5% on United States Air Force installations.
