This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers vacuum interface valves used with sewage vacuum, collection, holding, and transfer (VCHT) systems aboard ships. Vacuum interface valves control the discharge from urinals to the sewage vacuum collection piping. Although the requirements of this CID primarily refer to vacuum interface valves used with urinals, they may be applied to the acquisition of vacuum interface valves intended for use with other plumbing waste sources such as shower or galley drains.
