Provides clinical evidence regarding the safety and efficacy of reuse of hemodialyzer blood tubing and covers procedures for reprocessing blood tubing. Reviews the history and development of reuse in hemodialysis and discusses clinical experience with reuse of blood tubing. Guidelines deriving from the AAMI recommended practice, Reuse of Hemodialyzers (ANSI/AAMI RD47), are provided on the reprocessing of blood tubing.
