DESIGN HANDBOOK VOLUME 1 - BEAMS, ONE-WAY SLABS, BRACKETS, FOOTINGS, AND PILE CAPS
01-01-1991
12-01-2013
The ACI Design Handbook series - which, besides Volume 1 includes Volume 2 - Columns, and Volume 3 - Two-Way slabs - is intended for use by persons having a general familiarity with the strength design method and with "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete (ACI 318 89)." Volume 1 provides information for the engineering design and analysis of beams, one-way-action slabs, brackets, footings, and pile caps. Information is presented on four sections: Step-by-Step Design Procedures, Design examples, Design Aids and Commentary on Design Aids. The Step-by-Step Design Procedures indicate the order in which the various design considerations should be examined. The Design Examples illustrate the use of the Design Aids. The Commentary explains the analytical basis for the Design Aids.
