provides detailed test procedures for determining control valve capacity and related flow coefficients for industrial process control valves handling Newtonian fluids, for which the viscous stresses arising from its flow are at every point linearly correlated to the local strain rate. It supports the sizing equations in ANSI/ISA-75.01.01 by specifying methods to measure key parameters such as valve flow coefficient (C), liquid pressure recovery factors (FL, FLP), Reynolds number factor (FR) that measures fluid flow, critical pressure ratio factor (FF), piping geometry factor (FP), pressure drop ratio factors (xT, xTP) and valve style modifier (Fd). This standard covers both incompressible and compressible fluid testing, describing required test systems, specimen installation, instrumentation accuracy and data evaluation techniques. It includes guidance on test fluids, test section setup, pressure tap placement and flow measurement, along with annexes offering engineering data, example setups, derivations, extended test procedures and calculation aids. ANSI/ISA-75.02.01 is designed to promote consistency and precision in valve capacity testing, thereby aiding in dependable valve sizing and selection within process industries.
