ANSI/ISA-TR77.70.01-2010 (R2015), Tracking and Reporting of Instrument and Control Data, outlines a method for developing an integrated software application that centralizes and streamlines the tracking and reporting of instrumentation and control data in power plants. Replacing outdated paper records with a digital system enables technicians and engineers to quickly access accurate information about instruments, cables and distributed control systems. The software application would link with existing document management and work asset management systems to provide seamless access to drawings, maintenance schedules and work orders. This approach improves operational efficiency, enhances safety, reduces equipment downtime and supports better maintenance planning by making sure data is up to date and easily accessible. This report also includes practical examples and design features to guide implementation and help organizations optimize plant operations.
