Applies to meters used for testing of other meters and of electrical plant and equipment. Mechanical and electrical requirements, and marking, are specified. Accuracy is prescribed in terms of limit of error and effect of influence quantities.

This specification applies to single-phase and polyphase portable induction-type rotating standard watthour meters used primarily for the testing of other meters designed to measure 50 Hz alternating current electrical energy.
