Specifies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of aluminium, in the range 0.01 percent to 1.0 percent, in zinc alloys. The method is suitable in the presence of the following metals, up to the concentration indicated: antimony 0.05 percent, cadmium 0.5 percent, copper 0.1 percent, iron 0.1 percent, lead 1.5 percent and tin 1.0 percent.

This Standard sets out the flame atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of aluminium in zinc alloys. It is applicable to the range of 0.01% to 1.0% aluminium. The method has been found satisfactory for galvanizing metal or other alloys containing the following elements up to the concentration indicated:Antimony 0.5%Cadmium 0.5%Copper 0.1%Iron 0.1%Lead 1.5%Tin 1.0%
