Specifies standard service conditions for which machines are suitable: altitude, coolant temperature, voltage and frequency variations during operation, operation of motors on virtually sinusoidal and virtually balanced voltages, and neutral earthing arrangements. Appendices set out information to be given by the purchaser with enquiry and order, and the effects of unbalanced voltages on 3-phase cage induction motors.
