This Standard specifies requirements for non-laminar flow cleanrooms with an air cleanness of Class 3500 in accordance with AS 1386.1.NOTES:1. This Standard is based on AS 1386.3 which specifies requirements for non-laminar flow cleanrooms of Class 350 and cleaner, but also takes into consideration the matters in respect of which variations from the requirements specified in AS 1386.3 may be permissible where a non-laminar flow cleanroom is to be installed to Class 3500 conditions. The additional and in some aspects more specific requirements and information given in AS 1386.3 may also be used by the designer of Class 3500 cleanrooms as additional guidelines, if considered appropriate for the specific application. Class 3500 operating conditions do not normally permit the flexibility towards future changes in operations or products that is possible with Class 350 non-laminar flow installations. The specific design of Class 3500 cleanrooms should be determined by reference to the end-use of the cleanroom and any relevant statutory requirements.2. AS 1386.6 provides requirements for operation and inspection of cleanrooms. Separate specifications and related documents cater for certain vital components, e.g. air filters.
