Describes a procedure for determining the resistance of shaped, mouldable or castable refractory materials to the influence of carbon monoxide gas at high temperature. Results of testing are expressed in terms of whether carbon deposits, spalling or cracking, or disintegration of the test specimen have occurred or not.
