Specifies requirements for nine grades of flake graphite austenitic iron castings and eleven grades of spheroidal or nodular graphite austenitic iron castings, in terms of chemical composition and mechanical properties. Appendices provide purchasing guidelines and information on test bars, microstructure and supplementary properties.

This standard specifies requirements for austenitic iron castings, as follows, in terms of chemical composition and mechanical properties:(a) Nine grades of flake graphite austenitic iron castings.(b) Eleven grades of spheroidal or nodular graphite austenitic iron castings.NOTE: Guidelines to purchasers on requirements that must be specified by the purchaser and those that must be agreed at the time of enquiry and/or order are given in Appendix A.
