Sets out procedures for handling, fitting, installation and finishing of timber doorsets specified in AS 2689. It covers installation in cavity masonry walls, solid masonry walls and timber-framed and metal-framed walls. A symbolic designation of the direction of closing and faces of doors is included. It does not apply to the installation of timber doorsets in demountable partitions or fire-resistant doorsets.

This standard sets out procedures for the handling, fitting, installation and finishing of doorsets specified in AS 2689. It specifies only the minimum acceptable standards for the installation of doorsets for normal domestic and commercial use for-(a) external door frames in cavity masonry walls;(b) external door frames in solid masonry walls;(c) external door frames in timber-framed or metal-framed walls;(d) internal door frames in masonry walls;(e) internal door frames in timber-framed or metal-framed walls;(f) door jamb linings in masonry walls; and(g) door jamb linings in timber-framed or metal-framed walls.This standard does not apply to the installation of door frames and door jamb linings for doors larger than those specified in AS 2689 or in other forms of construction such as demountable partitions.NOTE: For installation of fire-resistant doorsets see AS 1905, Part 1.
