Specifies performance requirements for the fully assembled bicycle and individual components such as the fork and frame, the wheel and tyre assemblies, the seat and handlebar assemblies, and for the efficiency of the braking system. Design requirements are specified where they relate to rider safety. The Standard applies to adults' bicycles and children's bicycles which have a wheelbase of not less than 640 mm. Competition and specially built bicycles are not covered.
