Tabulates plans for sampling and resampling for assessment of average quality of coatings on metallic and non-metallic items, using normal inspection levels in conjunction with a continuing series of batches. Provides for items produced by methods using barrel processes and other than barrel processes and subject to non-destructive tests, and items subject to destructive tests (adhesion, hydrogen embrittlement, corrosion resistance etc).

This standard sets out recommended sampling plans to be used in the inspection and testing of products subjected to a metal finishing process for the purpose of deciding whether submitted lots of coated products comply with the standards applicable to the coatings.NOTE: Acceptance and rejection criteria and actual methods of test are within the province of the product or metal finishing standard and are not included in this standard.
