    Specifies requirements for the safe use of tower cranes, covering planning, selection, siting, personnel, inspection, testing, erection, dismantling, personnel safety, operation, maintenance and repair. Appendices provide typical inspection and testing certificates as well as inspection testing check sheets.

    This Standard specifies requirements for the safe use of tower cranes. NOTES: 1 Typical examples of tower cranes are given in AS 1418.4. 2 Power-driven mobile cranes fitted with tower attachments are not within the Scope of this Standard (see AS 2550.5). 3 Offshore cranes are not within the Scope of this Standard.
