10-05-2002
Specifies general principles, requirements and recommendations for lighting of both indoor and outdoor sporting venues but does not cover lighting for television broadcasting. Addresses the visual needs of players, officials and spectators and examines the relevant photometric parameters and applicable light source technologies and luminaire designs. Also specifies terms and methods for measuring and quantifying designs and installations and explains, with examples, the effect of maintenance regimes. To be used in conjunction with other sport-specific Standards in the AS 2560 series as appropriate. Deals with the same technical areas as the 1982 edition but includes requirements as well as recommendations, plus updates the terminology of several parameters and replaces the concept of 'service illuminance' with that of 'maintained' illuminance.
