This standard sets out a gravimetric loss of mass method for the determination of hygroscopic moisture in analytical samples of aluminium ores. The method is applicable to hygroscopic moisture contents in the range 0.1 percent to 5 percent H2O and shall be used to correct the results obtained for aluminium and loss on ignition to a dry basis.
