This standard sets out a method for determining the pH value of a mineral sand concentrate by measuring the pH of water after it has been mixed with a sample of mineral sand concentrate. The method is applicable to all heavy mineral sand concentrates. However, it is mainly used for zircon sand concentrates.NOTE: It has been found that mineral sand concentrates from operating plants may have pH values ranging from 5.5 to 7.0.
