Specifies safety requirements for portable hand-held electrically driven and internal combustion engine driven chainsaws. It does not apply to pole-mounted power pruners, hydraulic chainsaws, attachments fitted to chainsaws and mechanical aids assisting the task of cutting wood. The requirements are based on those specified in ISO11681-1 but consideration was also given to ANSI B175 and IEC60745-2-13.
