Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Specifies safety requirements for portable hand-held electrically driven and internal combustion engine driven chainsaws. It does not apply to pole-mounted power pruners, hydraulic chainsaws, attachments fitted to chainsaws and mechanical aids assisting the task of cutting wood. The requirements are based on those specified in ISO11681-1 but consideration was also given to ANSI B175 and IEC60745-2-13.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This Standard specifies safety requirements for portable, hand-held, electrically driven and internal combustion engine-driven chainsaws primarily intended for cutting wood. This Standard does not apply to(a) pole-mounted powered pruners;(b) hydraulic chainsaws;(c) attachments fitted to chainsaws; or (d) mechanical aids assisting the task of cutting wood.
