Sets out a method for the determination of the concentration of oxides of nitrogen in ambient air. The method is applicable to ambient air containing oxides of nitrogen at a concentration of less than 1p.p.m. by volume (less than 1mL/m(sup)3(/sup)). Nitric oxide (NO) and total oxides of nitrogen (NO(sub)´(/sub)) may be measured.

This Standard sets out the method for the determination of oxides of nitrogen in ambient air using a direct-reading instrumental method. This method applies to the determination of oxides of nitrogen in ambient air where the concentration typically lies within the range 0 to 5 p.p.m. by volume (equivalent to approximately 0 to 6700 (g/m3 of nitric oxide).
