Specifies requirements for couplings, drawbars, and safety chains which connect slope haulage conveyances in underground mines. Covers design, materials, manufacture, testing, and marking. Requirements for 1.5 percent manganese steel for components, permissible imperfections in components when using magnetic particle inspection, recommendations for inspection and maintenance, information on ruling section and equivalent section, and guidelines on the design of threaded components are covered in appendices.
