This Interim Standard specifies requirements for the suitability of products for use in contact with water intended for human consumption. Appendices set out the test methods to determine those substances in water extracts which may be of concern to public health. These methods include sampling, taste, appearance, growth of micro-organisms, toxic substances and metals content. Provides the means for laboratories to supply data to be used for developing an Australian Standard.
