This specification applies to all cord extension sockets intended to be connected at the end of a flexible cord and to permit the insertion of plugs. This specification does not cover cord extension sockets which are enclosed, or are intended for use solely where they will be enclosed, within an appliance in such a way that they are not exposed to personal contact.
