These Rules apply to personnel engaged in work in compressed air. In particular, the Rules are intended to provide a basis for uniformity of practice throughout Australia in relation to the safety and health of persons working in or entering shafts, tunnels and pneumatic caissons pressurized up to 50 lbf/in2.The Rules include requirements for medical supervision, operation, equipment, and general precautions to be observed, together with appendices setting out medical standards and examination reports, instructions for persons working in compressed air, decompression sickness and its treatment, recommendations regarding flying and diving after work in compressed air, and decompression tables.
