Serves as the basis for the formulation of individual schemes for the identification of pipes, conduits, ducts and cables, on or external to buildings, structures and industrial premises. It applies primarily to a scheme in which the contents of a pipe are identified in terms of five basic types of hazard. A supplementary scheme in which the contents are more specifically identified is also provided.
